Alistair Short
Al Short is our retail and negotiation specialist. He worked for Tesco’s in the UK for six years within the Commercial Trading team as a buyer and marketer.
For the last 13 years, Al has combined his role as a consultant with running a retail business in the South West of England.
He specialises in commercial skills training and workshop facilitation, with emphasis on:
Business Planning, Customer Management, Negotiation and selling skills and category management.
Al is much travelled, and, working in partnership with Mark Francis, has managed our customers in Western and Eastern Europe, the Gulf States and Asia.
Gerard Gaughan
Gerard Gaughan is our category management specialist. A first class engineer by background, he worked for Mars and Interbrew in senior sales and marketing roles and set up the category management department for Stella Artois.
For the last ten years, Gerard has been a consultant with Glendinning and Managing Director of BusinessDNA.
He specialises in commercial consultancy and training, with emphasis on:
Category marketing, organisational design and benchmarking and all forms of capability development.
Gerard works extensively with STAR within our client Danone; in the Water, Dairies and Baby divisions and on several projects in Scandinavia.
Liz Margree
Liz Margree our personal impact and leadership development specialist. She has a first class honours in psychology and a Masters in occupational psychology.
Her career has been in all aspects of the performing arts, especially theatre. She mentors two young theatre companies and is a producer and director. She lectures on the subject at the London South Bank University.
Liz specialises in the design and facilitation of action-based learning programmes with emphasis on:
Developing creative and passionate leaders, understanding and cultivating personal brand, and developing better, more fruitful relationships with internal and external clients. She works extensively for STAR with Danone UK.
Peter Lavers
Peter is an expert in Relationship Marketing and Customer Experience Management, helping clients deliver value and efficiencies through the alignment of customer/client/citizen propositions and processes throughout lifecycles and across channels.
He has over twenty years experience in customer management and has led engagements in many business and public sectors across the world. "Peter exudes a level of integrity, trust and customer focus that makes him a pleasure to work with. He also brings a level of customer management experience that places him at the forefront of this subject area."
Peter has conducted many Customer Management engagements in many business and public sectors across the world. These include engagements with Australian, South African, North American and UK banks; European, Korean, UK and North American auto players; UK & North American insurers; UK and Canadian local government & housing; UK Utilities companies; African mobile telco; UK central Government, and several UK retailers.
Peter's strengths are in market analysis, customer strategy & planning, digital engagement, brand/proposition management & communications planning, journey mapping, contact centre implementation & management, process engineering & re-engineering, stakeholder management, customer experience & satisfaction measurement, CRM key performance indicators (KPIs), and systems requirements definition.
His blend of analytical skills with hands –on approach adds value to strategic and tacti¬cal projects alike.
